Australia is a strong team in every format of international cricket. Australia has won 5 ICC ODI world cups and is the current champion of IC ODI world cup after winning ICC ODI world cup 2015. But so far Australia has not been able to win a T20 world cup. The best performance of Australia in the T20 world cups was in the 3rd T20 world cup of 2010 when the Australian team reached the final of the tournament but lost the final match against England. Australia has also reached the semi finals of 1st and 4th T20 world cups. Currently, Australia is at the 3rd spot in ICC T20 rankings. Winning percentage of Australia in T20 world cups is 56%.

Aaron Finch is the T20 captain and opening batsman of Australian T20 team along with David Warner. Other important batsmen of the Australian team are Steven Smith, George Bailey, Nic Madison and Glenn Maxwell. Shane Watson and James Faulkner are the main all rounder in the team while the bowling department is lead by Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Johnson. All these players are of high class and in the presence of these players, Australia could be the T20 world champions along with the ODI champions.
